MELOZAR Losartan + HCTZ Tablet 100mg/25mg

Indications / Uses:

It is indicated for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure) in patients who require combination therapy to achieve adequate blood pressure control. This fixed-dose combination may also be used to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy (enlargement of the heart muscle). Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB), helps relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure, while hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, helps remove excess fluid and sodium from the body to further support blood pressure reduction.

Dosage/Directions for use:

Adults (18 years and older): The usual starting and maintenance dose is 1 tablet of the lower-strength formulation (Losartan 50 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg) once daily or as prescribed by the physician.

Administration: It is administered orally. The tablet should be swallowed whole with water and may be taken with or without food. It should be taken consistently at the same time each day as prescribed. 

Contraindications: This product should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergy to losartan, hydrochlorothiazide, sulfonamide-derived medications, or any component of the formulation.
